What's  New

• The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) starts a new Certification Program for Contractors. The program will eventually be handed-off to ACI to fit within their ongoing certification program .

• Magruder Construction develops dual-use concept to aid Engineers in stormwater design. See also the page on this site devoted to Magruder Construction.
• Stormwater Managers across the U.S. are adopting the Dual-Use System as a Best Management Practice (BMP).

Key Milestones

• The American Concrete Institute (ACI), Committee 522, "Pervious Concrete", released their first publication. Committee 522 is also working on Specifications for the construction of Pervious Concrete Pavements. See also the page on this site devoted to ACI.

Research

• The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is sponsoring research being supported by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and The University of Central Florida (UCF).

• The University of South Carolina is sponsoring an ongoing program about the design and construction of Pervious Concrete pavements.

Publications

• The Portland Cement Association (PCA) has produced a publication titled: "Pervious Concrete Pavements".

• In addition to the Certification Manual for Pervious Concrete Contractors, the NRMCA has published a brochure through their Concrete Collateral Working Group titled: "Pervious Concrete - When it Rains, it Drains".
